A Step Closer to Our Team
Human Resources

Jordan Telecom Group’s human resource department has continued to apply modern approaches in management in order to improve performance, increase productivity, and urge employees to give more.

This policy contributed to achieving Jordan Telecom's goals. Personnel numbers went down by 14.5% during 2005 to reach 2,598 as opposed to 3,040 in the previous year. The vast majority of personnel who left Jordan Telecom benefited from severance and early retirement provisions.

On the other hand, MobileCom (Jordan Telecom Group mobile arm) continued with its policy to hire highly qualified employees, in light of the competition that became more fierce after the entry of new operators to the market and what that entailed in terms of the need for a highly-qualified workforce. By the end of 2005, the number of MobileCom employees reached 504 compared to 448 by the end of 2004. Overall, the number of Jordan Telecom Group personnel was 3,272 by the end of 2005.

Development and Improvement
In an effort to develop and improve the performance of the human resource department, Jordan Telecom implemented a number of ambitious projects that aim at updating and developing its policies and systems to meet the requirements of Jordan's competitive telecommunication market. To that end, an American consultancy was commissioned to assess jobs, analyze and evaluate skills in order to maintain and drive positions as leaders in the Telecommunications market place in Jordan.

Training
Jordan Telecom Grouphas always considered building the capacity and competence of its personnel in all fields of utmost importance, which is why it provides them with ongoing training, internally or externally, to help them stay abreast with new developments in the telecommunication market,
consequently bringing them to provide the best up-to-date services. It is worth mentioning that the cost of training for Jordan Telecom employees in 2005 reached JD 406,345.

MobileCom adopted "Knowledge Planner", an e-learning solution in a step that aimed at enhancing the company's productivity. This system’s innovative features include courses in English and Arabic using the latest in e-learning technology for communication between personnel through an updated Intranet. Thus MobileCom guaranteed that its employees received excellent training to enhance their career and meet the company's needs.

Health Insurance
At the beginning of 2005, Jordan Telecom took a bold step in its health insurance policy by adopting an auto health insurance policy for over 16,000 subscribers. This policy resulted in significant savings in comparison with previous years, making it possible to expand coverage, especially with regard to dental insurance and the different endoscope procedures, in addition to offering financial assistance to some cases that are costly but not covered by the health insurance plan.

Moreover, Jordan Telecom continued to provide additional health services without any deductions from personnel’s payrolls to include them in a healthcare plan against cancer and life insurance, as well as providing the ones who travel outside the country on business with travel insurance.

In line with its concern over the health of its personnel, Jordan Telecom
established a fund for work-related injuries to facilitate treating those injuries as quick as possible using the latest medical technology available in the Kingdom. Jordan Telecom still strives to improve and expand health insurance coverage, and provide the services employees need to be able to perform their work in a way that promotes their career and loyalty to the company.

Internal Communication
Through Internal Communication Jordan Telecom Group upholds its commitment to maintain constant communication with its personnel in order to ensure their awareness of what the company is trying to deliver to its customers, and also breed their sense of belonging and loyalty to Jordan Telecom. At the end of 2004, Jordan Telecom launched an internal communication campaign, under the slogan "customer satisfaction begins with me", that focused on the importance of customers and created a new sense and perception of the concept of internal communication with its tools in their new look and feel.

Moreover, internal communication enhances social interaction among personnel on all levels through a number of events, the most significant of which was the "family day", which was held in 2005. All Jordan Telecom personnel, along with their families, were invited for a day of entertainment, including games and fun activities, and valuable gifts and prizes.

Internal communication for human resources in Jordan Telecom Group aims at keeping personnel informed, on a regular basis, of any developments, because its personnel are the voice of their company.
