The year 2005 marked numerous achievements for the Jordan Telecom Group in the field of business solutions and building new services for customers that integrate enormous capabilities, experience and expertise. The Group continued to provide cutting-edge voice and data services that facilitate the different types of calls, data transfer and exchange. These services are considered as critical technology assets to the business management and therefore help focus on the core task of managing and running their businesses, not their technology. The new services will also help the government plan future developments and transformations.
Services Jordan Telecom introduced WINS (Wide Area Network Service); a pioneering service at a regional level. WINS includes a number of network management systems that rely on the concept of outsourcing, provide diverse services, build customers’ infrastructure and offer the possibility of remote network management.
As part of its ongoing efforts to develop its business-targeted services, MobileCom launched in 2005 the dedicated APN (Access Point Name) service, which connects branches to the head office and transforms data through the network using GPRS.
Wanadoo launched IPVPN (Internet Protocol Virtual Private Network) which supports high capacity applications (voice, data and visuals). This is a wide area network service that provides a high speed, secure and economic connection between entity sites that are geographically dispersed. In addition to continuing to build hot spot stations in public places for wireless Internet connectivity (Wi-Fi) through high-speed wireless linkages, the first location to go ‘live’ with the new service was Queen Alia International Airport..
